A follow-up on the question.
Watchmen (Хранители, isn't it?) did the trick. (Thanks, Exon [on FB] and h_yuash [on LJ])!
Exactly what I longed for: for it to look real, tangible, gritty enough. And to be an unmistakably superhero comics movie at that. Hey, the lengths they have gone to make it look like a dark serious stuff about real adult people!.. 3 hours of it: took three evenings. And was worth it each and single minute.
